My Perfect Weekend...

Eau Claire, despite being a college city, is actually a great place for families and kids to spend their time! There are many interesting places to visit. Downtown, there is the Cameo theater, which shows movies from a few months previous at a price of only $2! Near the Cameo is the Eau Claire Children's Art Museum, a place full of fun and interesting things for young minds to experience.

If you are bringing school-age children to Eau Claire, you must take them to Action City. Connected to a hotel and waterpark known as the Metropolis, Action City is a large arcade featuring games that give out tickets that can be exchanged for all kinds of prizes! They also feature a mini-bowling alley, a large Laser Tag arena, Bumper Cars, a climbing wall, go-karts for both the younger (at a slower speed) and older children, as well as batting cages and party rooms! Not only does Action City offer games and attractions, it also sells some of the largest and tastiest pizzas in the city! Visit Action City or actioncity.com to find great deals and packages for your family trip.

If you are looking for a less expensive or more natural experience, feel free to bring along some inner tubes and float down the Chippewa River on a bright summer day. Eau Claire offers many park areas, including Mount Simon Park and Big Falls Park. Also, feel free to take advantage of the many bike and hiking trials in the city.

If sports is something your family is into, summer time and early fall offers the Eau Claire Express baseball team, a part of the Northwoods League, which plays games almost daily at Carson Park.

Eau Claire really is a great city for fun with your kids and family!
